1837 Sharksong

The Harpoons cut into the Sea Beasts to fuel our rotting Empire and the Knifes cut into the Empire, as the wicked want their share. There are more than a hundred factions entangled in intrigue and murder. And like teeth in a shark’s mouth they endlessly grow back.

Your crew is one of them. Can you get your cut?

In Sharksong you play a Crew of criminals and weirdos in a rotting Empire that thrives on hunting giant Sea Beasts. Your Crew tries to survive and rise among the ranks of the entangled mess that is the Empires criminal underworld.

Can you carve out your place between the countless rival factions? Can you forge alliances and eleminate your enemies? Or will your feeble remains just feed the silent creatures beneath the waves?

Only you can tell.

Disclaimer:

Every 24XX game highlights the importance of savety tools and the communication about what you want in your game and what not. This game is no exception in that regard.

I personally think that empires are a very bad thing that ultimately only serve to make the ones already rich even richer at the cost of the poor and the environment. And in doing so, they always leave terrible consequences on the table that echoe far through history (e.g. Colonialism, the environmental impact of Industrialization, etc.).

This context gives that fictional game an edge that is based in real life, even if it might not be immediately obvious to everybody. Sharksong can give you the opportunity to show that imperial brutality and exploitation. Not everybody might be comfortable with that.

Before you start playing or building your Characters, please talk about how you all would like to handle that in game.
